The Dome does not mess around when it comes to freshwater fish. As the backbone of the aquatics industry, home freshwater aquariums have provided a decorative learning experience for millions of people. Freshwater fish are quite easy to keep; after an initial cycling process even a small freshwater tank can hold several of the most exotic tropicals available. The exciting part for us as retailers is that new species of fish suitable for home aquaria are discovered every year in remote rivers and lakes of the world. We appreciate all types of freshwater fish, from schools of neon tetras to scrappy African cichlids to tankbusting predator fish like tiger shovelnose catfish. Casual fishkeepers can easily keep a beautiful tank with colorful, undemanding fish. Of these we offer the largest selection in town. We also carry rare and exotic fishes that make the collector of 20+ years set up a new tank. Hundreds of species of Corydoras and Loricariid catfish as well as rare Tanganyikan and South American cichlids have passed through the Dome on the way to expert housing by experienced hobbyists.
